4. System and Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis
(1-Day Workshop)

About the Program:

This seminar will help participants learn how to efficiently develop and use System and Design FMEAs to identify and reduce the risk in product design and manufacture. Participant may bring a produce design to the seminar (drawings and bill of material) and practice on their own application.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand Design-FMEA as a tools to anticipate andminimize design risk.
  • Apply steps to develop a sufficient D-FMEA, which assures that the final design adequately provide all necessary functionality.
  • Develop Design Verification and Validation Plans based on information in the D-FMEA.

Who Should Attend:

Individual who is involved with product design, including: product and program engineers, materials and manufacturing engineers, and quality personnel.

Features & Benefits:

  • System approach integrates Quality Functional Deployment (QFD), design block diagrams, Design-FMEA and DVP.
  • Emphasizes reliance on experience to reflect a true "snapshot" of the Design risks.
  • Presents strategies to reduce the risk of developing an ineffective design.
